Deepavali 2010

Deepavali 2010 is special to me.. That was about one month plus after we got married.. It was somewhere in early November..
In my lifetime, I never had any headache before. Trust me.. Never! But a week before Deepavali.. I started to have headache.. morning, day and night.. and crazy mood swing (How can a newly wed has mood swing?? I was supposed to be in honeymoon phase!!)

Then I started to think.. what could possibly when wrong.. like some brain pathology, or some viral infection.. some hormonal imbalance.. I already made a checklist to rule out my illness, until my colleague told me to do Urine Pregnancy Test..

I gulped! Is that possible? It has only been a month?? So, I went to the pharmacy, and I bought like 5 different brand of UPT!! Hahahha.. I just wanna make sure there’s no false positive happening here!! 5!! For Godsake!! Hahahha… And no, I didn’t tell my new husband yet.. I was scared!!

Deepavali morning, I was on call..

(Come to think about it, I’m always on call on Deepavali!! Today pun on call!!)

Woke up early, according to my gynaecology knowledge, urine for pregnancy test has to be done early in the morning.. First urine in the morning because that is when the beta HCG hormone is at its highest level in the urine.. I drank glasses of water to get the system running ;) Hehe..

So, to the toilet I go… First time peeing on the stick!! Woohooo… Of course I didn’t manage to complete all 5 sticks!! Hahahah.. Only 1. Geezzzzz..

I closed my eyes, no actually I peeped with one eye.. it took a while for the blue line to come out.. First line is out. Then there was a faint second line. I fainted for 3 seconds! Two lines.. two lines.. two lines.. Breathe Halina breathe… This is huge. I better breathe.. It was surreal. Then I get ready to work.. I was on call remember. Hubsy was already awake. He was in front of the computer reading news. I told him… “I think I’m pregnant” and showed him the sticked that I peed on. (Haha.. cleaned of course!!) I think his jaw literally dropped… and the rest is history..

Here we are.. 4 years later..

Alhamdullilah..

Happy Deepavali to all who celebrating.. Wishing you a wealthy, prosperous and delightful Deepavali. Happy holiday to the rest!!

Attention To All Space Enthusiast

You don’t have to be a space enthusiast yourself.. Maybe you want to bring your children or husband or whoever you know who like “space stuff” to this event.. Haha.. “space stuff”!

But this is for real. We are gonna have astronauts from Japan, Germany and Russia!!

Chiaki Mukai, a lady astronaut.. (you go girl!!) in fact, she is the first female astronaut from Japan. Who is also happen to be a cardiothoracic surgeon!! Inspiring isn’t she? I’m not trying to be feminist here but I believe we need more role model like this for our younger girls! Someone who inspire the young ladies to be all-rounder, who believes in being the best in what she can do. Speaking about women empowerment? She is definitely it!!

Klaus Dietrich Flade is from Germany.. Really funny guy. I met him when I followed S to Association of Space Explorers Planetary Congress in Riyadh 2 years ago. He is Bella’s favourite astronaut too!! Hahah.. Currently working as an astronaut / pilot in Germany, coming down to Malaysia next week to meet all of you!

And Salizhan Sharipov, Russian astronaut, I remember him as the space guy with one eyebrow!!

See!! I told you!! :D He is the 7th Muslim astronaut in space!!

And.. and.. and.. my personal favourite astronaut…

How often do you get a chance to meet people who actually been to space? Earth population is currently at 7.125 billion in 2013, and there’s only 536 people who is actually been to space!! (S is number 438!!)

And next week, UKM is hosting an event with 4 astronauts in attendance!

4 out of 536 out of 7,125,000,000 human beings!!

Come to DECTAR (Dewan Cansellor Tun Abdul Razak) in UKM next Monday, October 20, 2014. Just in case you don’t know which one is DECTAR, it is the huge main hall of UKM Bangi on you left hand side as you enter the main UKM entrance. You won’t miss it! It’s open to ALL. Bring your kids, this is for them (and you too of course!) to expose, educate and inspire them about the importance of space science! Entrance are free. It will be a day event starts from 8.30am until 4.30pm. You can meet and greet fellow astronauts yourself, and listen to their stories. Public talk and dialogue session with the astronauts will be at 11.00am!!

And guess who else gonna be there to grace the event?

No, not the guy at the back!! The gentleman in blue batik!! He doesn’t need an introduction..

Enough said.

So, if someone asked you “Do you have any plan next Monday?”

Your answer will be, “I’ll be in DECTAR UKM to see some “space stuff”, jom pegi”

:D

4 Advices on From Our 4 Years of Marriage

Praise to Allah for all these years of good health and happiness. It has been 4 years of marriage for us. It has been a wonderful journey for me. I’ve learnt so much.. and missed  a lot more ;) Thank you S for all the love and patience. Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for being a wonderful father to my children. I’m just blessed. Alhamdullilah..

Many things I’ve learned along the way.. but since this is only our 4th year, I will share with you 4 lessons I’ve learned ;)

#1

First year of marriage is challenging!! It’s the year of adapting.. First few months are honeymoon phase but when the reality hits.. That’s when the challenges started. Most couples come from different background. Different up bringing. Different lifestyle. During courtship, we only see the best of each other. When our partner is at his/her best. But married and living together opens up a lot more. That’s the phase where you really get to know your spouse. The good and the not-so-good. We are only humans, remember!! 100% human, 0% angel. And we are no exception to that. We learn. We fight. We make up. And we adapt.

#2

Trust. No love can survive without trust. Period.

#3

Communicate. Just find time for each other. Talk, text, send pictures or FaceTime. Just do it. Even a small tiny matter. Like “Dah sampai?” or “Had lunch?”. It’s not about being nosy but to me it’s because I care. And he knows it. But ladies, there a fine line between care and clingy. Sometimes it can be misleading ;) Gotta be careful thou..

#4

Respect. This is the most important lesson in a relationship. Men need respect, women need love. It sounds simple but sometimes we (urmm.. I sometimes) took it for granted. It’s ok not to win an argument. Think about long term investment.. NOT short term glory. Seriously, no point of winning if one of you gets hurt. Always remember to go back to #3. But.. when you are doing #3, no screaming. Talk nicely!! Hahaha..

I’m still learning. We all do.

I’m sooo in my mushy mushy mood today. Hehe.. I kept repeating our wedding video again and again. Can’t believe we made it this far.

Praise to Allah for this blessed life. I wish you all the same..

What’s In My Bag..

I went to Putrajaya this morning but when I reached there, I got lost because I didn’t see the sign boards, it was raining heavily and my vision while driving was very poor. Suddenly I was near PICC (Hahaha.. nope, I wasn’t supposed to go there!) Called up hubs for help.. then he asked me to switch on my Waze.. I was like.. duhhh.. why didn’t I think of that earlier :D

Anyway, when I reached the place that I wanted to go, it was still raining.. I needed an umbrella. Unfortunately, I left mine at home.. (why oh why..) the only umbrella that I have in my car way B’s Pororo umbrella. Hahaha.. I can’t go to government office in Pororo umbrella right? ;) So, there I was, stucked in my car while waiting for the rain to stop…

I was bored..

So, I did this video… I wanted to try this new app.. Hyperlapse where I can speed up the video faster..

Check this out.. Its called.. “what’s in my bag..”

I use Gin&Jacqie handbag organiser to make sure my bag doesn’t look or feel like a black hole. I’m a freak when it comes to organising stuff. Haha.. You can get yours here.

I have to have my note book. I have all this note taking apps what not on my phone but sometimes I just want to be traditional. Writing down ideas / my to-do / to-buy list is still the best. I got that note book from MPH. It comes with a very good advice from the bad girl next door.. Marilyn Monroe. She said.. “It’s better to be ridiculous than to be boring” ;D

Then, my card holder where I keep whatever cards I have, like membership cards, or discount cards.. And the pen.. Of course no point having a notebook without a pen.. and lipstick. My favourite lipstick brand is NARS. I have moved on from all these Israelis supporting products. I just don’t have the heart to buy anything that supports them. Even my trustworthy SKII. Yes, I am that fanatic. Geezzzz..

Moving on to sunglasses. Must have but rarely wears it. Haha.. and my Macbook compact mirror!! ;) Hubsy saw that one online and he ordered one for me!! So thoughtful ;) Haha.. And of course, my green reusable foldable groceries bag. Just in case if I need to go for emergency groceries shopping, I can help safe the world by not using plastic bag!! Yup, keep the world green for our children!! Haha..

On the inside, facial tissue, purse and iPad Mini.. I keep many books in my iPad Mini. Easy to read and carry around..

So, there you go.. What’s In My Bag..

What’s in yours??

Lately on Barely Supermommy..

OMG!!

There’s too much spam comments on my blog. What do I do? Should I put up approval permission before each comments? (Seriously?) It will be tiring. I don’t have time to approve every single comments..

Any advice? -.-

And thank you for the good response on advertisement blog entry. I will reply to you as soon as I can. Time is just crazy jealous of me. I will, InsyaAllah.. Be patience with me please..

And here’s Tasha being cheeky..

Much love.. X

Moving On To The Next Level..

Dear Barely Supermommy readers..

From now on, I have agreed to include sponsored post in my blog. Of course it has to be related to parenting, mommyhood and me-stuff. I promise I will not write any review on spark plug, light bulb or anything like that. Definitely not my forte! It has to be relevant and beneficial to all of us.

Before this, I never knew I can reach where I am today, but after a while, I realised with all your supports, more that 11 million hits for over 3 years, almost 100k followers on Instagram and Facebook each. What is there not to be thankful for..?

I will write my honest opinion on stuffs. Pinky promise!

But I don’t think I’m gonna do that often. Probably twice a month or maybe less. Hahah.. Family comes first, right? Don’t worry.. you will still see B and T often. My problem nowadays, sometimes they move too fast, I don’t even have the time to grab the camera to capture the moment.

Anyway, I hope you’ll be supporting Barely Supermommy’s decision. I wouldn’t be where I am if it’s not because of you..

If you are interested, I’m contactable at barelysupermommy@gmail.com

Just a gentle reminder.. This blog is called Barely Supermommy… not Barley Supermommy! Hahaha…

Thank you.

Much love.. X
