Currently I’m using Huggies for her.. Tried Drypers but I think it’s a little plastic-y for her skin.. Well, she never complained anyway.. I jer yg rasa macam tuh :D Other brands, I tak tau.. I’m still using disposable diapers at night.. during daytime, I use cloth diapers.. Trying to do my bits to safe the world for my baby!! The cloth diapers are really nice.. it’s made of fleece.. sgt sgt lembut..

I just wanna share your experience with disposable diapers.. do reply mommies ;)

Overcoming My Forgetfulness

Breastfeeding sometimes can be confusing.. not in a complicated way.. but in a very simple way that makes you (in this case.. me!) feel silly!!! Sometimes I forget which breast I feed her with previously.. For those who is still new with breastfeeding.. yes, you have to alternate breast every feeding. This is to keep the milk coming.. Another little tiny things that I frequently (dulu lar) forget is when was the last feed, how long was it.. It is little things that becomes annoying when you forget.. Don’t blame me.. I’m only human :)

Initially, I had a piece of paper on my bedside table just for me to jot something down.. but another problem occurred.. I lost the paper :D

Until one fine day, while feeding Baby B and browsing iphone App Store (Yes, I love to shop even at Apple’s Apps Store) I found this app!! This is the answer to  my problems!!

Baby Log!! I tried the free version first and I love it.. It has everything that a occasionally-forgetful mommy like me needs! ;) Beside, it is in my phone..  not that I will never lost my phone (yes, I did twice) but at least the chance of me losing my phone a lot lesser that a piece of paper.. I can key in all B’s data from feeding, diaper change, sleep, play, bath, poo poo and more! The screen that you see below is an overview of B’s activity today..

In detail, when you enter the feeding page, you can add the side of the boobies (ni lar yg I slalu lupa!) time, duration. If your baby is on bottle milk, you can choose the type of milk like formula milk or breast milk, or juice etc..Even if you fed your baby both sides, you can enter the details here..

This is the page for diaper entry.. There’s also other basic entries as I mentioned above live sleep. play, bath etc..

Not just daily basis notes, you can also enter your baby’s measurement. These are the things that doctors measure during your child follow up during vaccination visits at the clinic. These numbers are quite difficult to understand unless you see it in a form of a graph. (Typical schematic doctor!!)Taddaaaa… This graph is also included in this Baby Log app!! Amazing isn’t it!! Now I don’t have to worry about forgetting B’s stuff anymore.. I just have to remember not to forget to key in the data!! ;)

Till then.. xoxo

Mommy Likes : b.box essential baby box

I just bought this awesome, colourful baby box to make my (or my husband’s) life easier when we go outing with Baby B.. It is a (bright and colourful) container that holds a changing mat, diapers and baby wipes inside it!! I was looking for something like this to avoid another episode of “diving” into my handbags looking for stuffs when I want to change B’s diaper. Everything I need is already inside the box. In fact, I can always slip in a sample size diaper rash cream too!! Its mainly for short outing like when we go to the malls or visiting relatives.. Well, I do have a baby bag to carry all B’s stuff if needed but sometimes mommy needs to look chic too!! ;)  This baby box is cool and practical, hence the name, Essential Baby Box by b.box!!

This is how the inside looks like.. the changing mat is folded and held with a holder. You can also slip in 2 or 3 diapers in it and also on the other side of the cover, there is an opener for your baby wipes.. This box has 2 wipes opener sides.. from the inside or the outside. Not that I have found any wipes brand that have double-sided opener but at least with this box you can either choose to access from inside or outside..

Yes, I am an organizer-freak person! Not 100% freak.. but maybe 83% ;) I love everything that’s organized and well-arranged. Owh.. another good news, this Essential Baby Box is BPA, PVC and Phthalate free and made of durable and washable materials like polypropylene. In a simple  words, it is free of the harmful chemical to our baby and easily clean..

It comes in 5 different colours.. all are eye-catching! But when I saw this one in lime green.. I’m sold!!

My Verdict: Love it!

Another Wedding in the Family

My baby sister finally is married to her long time boyfriend of 10 years!! They have been together since their highschool days in MRSM Jasin, Kolej MARA Banting then further studies together in Dublin, Ireland. 10 years is a long time.. Congrats to those two lovebirds ;) We definite knew they are getting married, it’s just a matter of time. Nikah event was held at Masjid Putra in Putrajaya, then our side’s reception was done at Taman Botani near the mosque. Most of our relatives and friends were there.. One week after that, we traveled to Kota Bharu, Kelantan for reception on groom’s side.. that was my first time in Kelantan!!

My husband couldn’t make it because he had to work.. poor thing!! That means I had to go there with Bella alone!! *dang* All our family members have already booked their flight tickets! Unfortunately I didn’t get the same flight with my other family members.. I ha to travel with Baby B on my own!! *dang, dang, dang* How am I gonna carry B with my huge luggage (Kelantan is a batik heaven. how can I not bring a huge empty luggage with me?!) Nervous dah ni.. What if Bella cried in the airplane? *malu ok* What if she pass motion in the airplane and the whole cabin can smell her poo-poo? *double malu* What if while I was feeding her, someone ter’saw’ my boobs?? *triple malu* I had hundreds of ‘what ifs’ in my head!!

I didn’t bring B’s stroller along.. (not another extra thing to carry!!) I only brought her baby carrier where I can carry her like how kangaroos carry their babies!! :D Well, it is kinda easy to carry her using that thing.. and since B has better head control now, she can also face the front and look around.. She was asleep when this picture was taken.. Along the journey, Bella behaved like a perfect angel!! She doesn’t cry.. or poo-poo.. Quietly drinking milk and fortunately there was no embarassing incident like my nursing cover accidentally slipped off my shoulder or any other of my imaginary scenarios :) Thank you, God!

We had a good time in Kelantan!! Food there is awesome!! I whacked almost everything.. Even nasi kerabu there is alot tastier than in KL.. There goes my diet!! Bella had a good time too (maybe, Im not sure coz she hasn’t talk yet!) With all family and relatives around taking care of her, I’m sure she doesn’t mind.. I even brought her along to shop at Bazaar Buluh Kubu to look for batik!! Hehehhe..

Overall, we had fun in Kelantan.. Food was good, People is nice there despite I had difficulties understanding their slang.. :p

Till then.. xo

Our First Year

It’s our first wedding anniversary!!! We survived our first year being married!! Hahahhaha… It has been a year of learning and adapting for both of us I guess.. Courting and being married is totally different. Marriage life is a lot more AWESOME!! ;)

Baby B’s First Plane Ride

Dear all,

We’re back from a working holiday trip in Maldives!! My husband had to give a talk to a university there, me and Baby B came along. It is Maldives, who’s gonna refuse, right? ;) There’s a reason why Maldives is called ‘heaven on earth’.. It’s because it IS heaven on earth.. Well, not the I have seen how heaven looks like but the view is breathtaking.. It’s a shame I’m not well-versed with my camera (I only know ‘auto mode’!! hehehe..) The ocean is crystal clear. You can see beautiful corals and fishes from above. I managed to catch a glimpse of black tip shark swimming below the restaurant when we were having dinner. Apparently there is over 1100 islands in Maldives and only 200 are occupied. The population there is about 350,o00 (only!) There are about 900 resorts in Maldives and one island only have one resort.. I got these facts from my husband, if it is wrong.. then he is to be blame :D

First thing when my husband told me that his wanted to bring the whole family (me and Bella!) to Maldives, my first reaction was.. yay!! But after that then I realized, is it safe for my 2 month old baby to ride a plane? The pressure in higher altitude is different from on the ground. Will she has ear ache during take-off and landing? Even we, as adult sometimes feel discomfort in our ears during taking-off and landing. So, as an overly-cautious parents (that is the hazard of having doctor parents, in our case, it is even worse because both parents are doctors!!) I did a mini-research, asked around, did some readings.. just to make sure it is safe for my little Bella to go for a plane ride.

Apparently my worries are reasonable :) Changes in air pressure from ground to higher level may cause discomfort to baby’s ears sometimes can be painful too. What you can do for your baby is to let them suckle on something like a bottle of milk, or even just your finger. This is because the act of suckling, yawning, chewing, intermittently opens up the Eustachian tube to prevent damage by equalizing pressure between the middle ear and the atmosphere. Babies will feel more comfortable (and not crying!!) during taking-off and landing where the change of air pressure occurs.

What I did for little Bella, I fed her both during take-off and landing. Even when she was asleep, I woke her up and feed her. It is so easy because she is on breast milk, ready-made and always there ;) Both journey, to-and-fro, she didn’t cry at all. Quietly sleeping in her bassinet and both parents also slept soundly at their seats :D

Baby B was well-behaved during the plane ride. I believe at this younger age it is a lot easier to bring our baby to travel. Once they are more mobile and running around, it should be more challenging..

Till then, lots of love from Bella and mommy.. XO
